MY PREGNANCY

Kia - Tazkia's nickname - was conceived around February, so she was due around the 18th of November. During the pregnancy i didn't experience any heavy nausea, probably in the first trimester, but nothing too much i can't handle, so i still worked at the office as usual (oh yeah, til 6 months of pregnancy i still lived alone in Prabumulih, coz my hubby worked in Medan).

The only cravings I had was guavas and 'pempek kampung' which was easily found in Prabumulih. I thought, oh, this must be a nice baby, doesn't want to burden mama too much..:).

During the pregnancy, I had a few pregnancy scares,

1. First one was at my second pregnancy check to the doctor, which i was diagnosed with a cyst (kista in bahasa). The doctor said that if it got bigger, she'll have to cut it out operate it in my four months pregnancy..*cry*.. but, Alhamdulillah, after praying day and night, the cyst magical disappeared at my four month checkup.
2. The second scare was at the 4 mo checkup, which although the cyst was gone, the doctor predicted that my baby's head was to large and suspected her of being hydrocephalus... *crying even harder*.. so she had me to check the baby to a more specialist doctor at Palembang and having my blood checked too.. And the result of bloodcheck was... I was positive a thallasemia carrier.. *pass out*
3. So, the third scare was beside of the suspicion of having a hydrocephalus baby, the doctors were suspicious of me having a thallasemi baby, which if were born, would have to receive a blood transfusion every month to support her life. I was so devastated but my hubby and I decided that we were gonna keep the baby no matter what. So the only way to find out was to go to RSCM in Jakarta, which had a Thallasemia Center Laboratorium and also had a specialist in Obgyn. Alhamdulillah, after a long journey and wait, the doctors at RSCM found the result was negative and i was carrying a normal, healthy baby..:)

After all the pregnancy scares, I decided not to check up again every month, cause getting a check up would usually lead up to another scare, so i just tried to stay positive and eat healthy for my baby.

Overall, i had a pretty much happy pregnancy, didn't gain much weight at all.. All the weight seemed to go straight to the baby, so I looked like a lady carrying a big ball in her tummy..haha.. Till 9 mod of pregnancy, i gained only 9 kg..:D
